We would like to take this time to wish all of our clients, friends, family and associates a very Happy New Year 2023!
2022 was a very busy year and we’re still not quite sure where it went! As the world slowly opened up, we had the opportunity to once again meet with our clients and insurance company partners in person, as well as take part in some fun Team events. This year has been challenging for a lot of people, including our Team and their families. Taking into account the amount of illness going around, increased costs for food and fuel, rising interest rates, and more, our hope for 2023 is that things will start to improve.
We typically start off our year with the Calgary Motorcycle Show in January. It was cancelled in both 2021 and 2022, with the plans to go ahead for this coming February. However, we recently got news that it has been cancelled for 2023 as well. We hope to be back in 2024 and look forward to seeing you there!
We had the opportunity to attend the Insurance Brokers Association of Alberta (IBAA) broker convention in May, which took place in Banff. It was the first in-person convention since 2019 and it was lovely to reconnect with so many of our fellow brokers and insurance company partners!
We also attended the Cochrane Chamber of Commerce trade show for the first time in May. It was a great way to meet some new people and to get our name out there in the beautiful town of Cochrane! In June, we opened a small satellite office in Cochrane and shortly thereafter started sponsoring the CochraneNow 91.5 morning show!
We welcomed two new Head Office Team members this year, Janet Owen and Jahnel Kollman. It has been wonderful getting to know them and they have been a great addition to our wonderful Team!
We celebrated several anniversaries again this year, the big ones being fifteen (15) years for both Andrew Shareski and Nirmal Lombsar, twelve (12) years for Kristel Wilson, eleven (11) years for Karen Sandeman, and six (6) years for Nivi Uppal. We are so fortunate to have such amazing people as part of the Costen Family!
To kick off summer, we held a BBQ at our Head Office for our Team. We also put on our annual Stampede Breakfast (after a three year break). We had a great turnout and a lot of fun at both events!
Our designated charity partner for 2020 and beyond is the Helping Families Handle Cancer Foundation. 2022 was another successful year with referrals (Thank You) and we are looking forward to sending them a donation at the end of the year. The charity created a new bursary program this year, and is in the process of rebranding. Stay tuned in 2023 to learn more, or please visit their website.
